How It Works At The Emily Program
An eating disorder assessment helps guide your love one’s journey to recovery
After you contact us, one of our experienced admissions team members talks with you and your family member. We’ll explain our services, gather personal and insurance information, and schedule initial appointments for your family member’s eating disorder assessment. This assessment helps us learn more about your loved one and your family, so that we can better understand what he or she is experiencing.
We’ll create a personalized treatment plan
During the first meeting, one of our intake psychologists will explain the intake tests results and recommend the right services for your loved one at The Emily Program. If you’re ready to move forward, we’ll make appointments for the client to meet with a therapist, a dietitian, and other staff members on our treatment team. Remember, completing an intake does not commit you or your loved one to any additional treatment. It’s a simple, non-threatening way to learn more about leading a healthy, full life. We’re glad to share what we know with you.
We provide a full continuum of care
From outpatient to 24/7 residential services, The Emily Program offers a full range of personalized treatment options, including:
- Adolescent Intensive Day Program (AIDP) provides seven hours of treatment Monday through Friday with daily therapeutic meals and snacks, therapy sessions, and time for tutoring and studying.
- The Anna Westin House-Adolescent in a quiet neighborhood of St. Paul, MN, focuses exclusively on 24/7/365 treatment for youth with eating disorders.
- Adolescent-Family Intensive (AFI) programming meets three or four days per week with supported meals and therapy session. Family members participate in groups and meals one evening a week, too.
In addition to our therapists, physicians, and dieticians, we work with community professionals who interact with your child, such as school personnel and healthcare providers.
You always have support
After completing the intake appointment at The Emily Program, you and your loved one have access to the Office Manager at your service location who will be the primary resource and support for all care needs and questions. Your loved one’s individual therapist will be the ‘go to’ person for ongoing therapy support and will guide the treatment path. The Emily Program encourages you to join our Family & Friends Support Groups, too.
