Seattle Recovery Night is July 20
At The Emily Program we know recovery is possible, often from personal experience. We enjoy hearing former clients, community members, and even our peers talk about their journey to recovery from an eating disorder. Gathering together as a community provides another level of support. It provides a forum that is safe, inspiring, and powerful.
The Emily Program-Seattle is hosting a Recovery night on July 20th at 6:00 p.m.
Our speaker, Linda, was born and raised in Washington state. She has been married for 34 years and has a 28-year-old daughter. Linda is a gemologist and has been in the jewelry business for 39 years. Her long-term goal is to be involved in the eating disorder community, either by volunteering or mentoring to spread the word and let people know recovery is possible.
Linda will tell the story of how her eating disorder stayed with her for three decades, and how she didn't realize early childhood trauma had set the groundwork for "ED." Trying to recover on her own was difficult, but with determination and the help of a therapist, she now sees the light at the end of the tunnel.
