We're also hosting a Special Edition Recovery Night on Sunday, May 22nd from 4:00pm-5:30pm. Carolyn Costin, MA, MEd, LMFT, Director of Monte Nido Treatment Centers and author of Your Dieting Daughter, The Eating Disorder Sourcebook, and 100 questions and Answer About Eating Disorders will share her recovery story. On April 12,
The Emily Program's Dr. Jillian Lampert
and Kitty Westin will lead teams in Washington D.C. in support of the Federal Response to Eliminate Eating Disorders Act (FREED Act).
the first eating disorders legislation to comprehensively promote research, treatment, education, and prevention programs - and demonstrate why it is vital in the larger context of health care reform.
Each "team" has made arrangements to meet with specific legislators. This time will be spent advocating for FREED and educating politicians on the importance of education, research, and prevention of eating disorders.

The St. Louis Park Foundation Family & Friends group is holding an interactive and educational discussion with guest speaker, attorney Elizabeth Wrobel on Thursday, April 7.
Clients, families, and friends are invited to this FREE event!
Elizabeth specializes in insurance and will help attendees:
Date: Thursday, April 7
- Understand their insurance policy
- Effectively appeal coverage denials.
- If clients and/or families bring their benefits handbook, she can help them determine the types of insurance plans they have, which will affect their appeal rights (traditional vs. self-funded).
- Additionally, she will provide sample letters for clients and their families to request plan documents and benefits, as well as how to appeal to the Department of Commerce.
