Family and Friends
The Emily Program believes involvement of the family and friends is crucial to recovery. We know that families do not cause eating disorders. We also know that eating disorders cause pain, fear, anxiety, frustration and disruption in the lives of a loved one: partner, spouse, mother, father, stepparents, siblings, children, in-laws, extended family members, friends, and others. And we know that you want to support your loved one in recovery. That’s why we strongly encourage families to be part of recovery and offer family-focused groups. Married, unmarried, divorced, LGBTQ, heterosexual—we’re here to help and support you.
FREE Understanding Eating Disorders, Treatment, and Recovery
The Emily Program knows that there is a lot to learn about eating disorders and the treatment and recovery journey that lies ahead. Our knowledgeable staff will provide answers to common questions and concerns of families and friends “new” to eating disorders, treatment and recovery--and you’ll leave with valuable resources.
