Interventions
It is difficult to have someone in your life struggling with an eating disorder. We know how common it is to be unsure of how to help. We have some general guidance on ways to talk about your concerns in our FAQs.
But if your loved one still is reluctant to seek help or resists treatment, that can drain you emotionally. Our “Conversations” service can help.
Unlike a traditional intervention, our “Conversations” approach is not confrontational—simply because we find that confrontation isn’t especially effective in these situations.
Our trained staff comes to you, so no one is “forced” to visit a clinic. We meet with you and your loved one to help you discuss your concerns with him/her.
Our Conversations approach shows good results in persuading people to get help for their eating disorders.
We’re here to help you after the Conversation, too. Because eating disorders have such a big impact on family and friends, it’s important to get support for yourself. Our family services can be a resource for you, along with our Guidelines for Family and Friends.
