hi,
my name is Kristian! I have not had an E.D. that long because my family caught it early! I was a figure skater and wanted to look better in my skating outfits. thats how it started! as healthy eating and quickly turned into throwing up, not eating, laxatives, and over exercising! Looking at me you would not see someone with an E.D. because i am not thin at all! People just think I am an average 13 year old girl! But this was not true! I feel guilty when I eat. I have also been on vacation te last week so I have been eating unhealthy which has been bothering me a lo! i feel like I am getting fatter by the second! Is it in my head? I have relapsed a few times but always come out stronger! I hope this is true in the end! My mom sent me this link and suggested it! I go to therapy and take medication and have been doing better! It has only been 6or 7 months since it started but it feels like a life time ago! i hope I can get support as someone like you not as a 13 year old little kid! I appreciate any advice or friendships! Thanks

Welcome, Kristian to the Emily Program and to the forums! Good for you and your family for catching your eating disorder early. You sound really invested in pursuing recovery and I think that will serve you very well. As far as I know, there are quite a few teens in treatment at the EP, and I know there are groups just for people closer to your age, so I think as you discover more about what EP has to offer, you’ll feel a lot more comfortable about the age thing. I confess I felt a little uncomfortable about starting treatment at my age too, and I’m in my late 30’s! But I’ve seen people here who are my age and even older. There’s room for everyone of any age at the Emily Program and the staff are really open and accepting of all aspects of who we are, age or otherwise, and where we’re at with our recovery journey.  Best of luck to you : )
