Eating Disorder Technician - On-Call
We are looking for friendly, helpful, and caring individuals to join our newly renovated 16-bed residential eating-disorder facility (24/7) to assist our clients in gaining the skills needed to manage their eating disorder. The Anna Westin House relocated to St. Paul in March 2010. Must have interest in working with ED population. Right now we are only looking for applicants who are interested in working all shifts - day, evening and overnight.
We are looking to fill on call shifts. The On Call position will fill shifts that are unable to be covered by regular ED Techs. The shifts could include day, night, overnight and weekends. This position reports to the Clinical Manager at The Anna Westin House. It is a non-exempt, hourly position. Competitive compensation.
Job duties include:
- Work with multi-disciplinary team on assessments, care planning and treatment.
- Provide encouragement and support during admission and continue throughout entire stay.
- Monitor and assist residents in the AWH community.
- Support residents’ eating at mealtimes and snacks.
- Provide support for academic goals (applying for schools, registering for classes, etc.).
- Support residents during structured outings and recreation.
- Unlock doors and monitor as necessary.
- Monitor and document exercise.
- Search personal items and common areas when required.
- Assist residents in pass planning and pass processing.
- Report observations and document in charts.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree in psychology, social work or related health field required.
- 2+ years experience working as psychology technician or in the eating disorders field preferred.
- Solid interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive relationships; important to understand and respect boundaries of the clients and staff.
- Professional and mature with the ability to adapt to unique environment and situations.
- Demonstrate initiative in starting tasks, asking questions, identifying and discussing problems.
- Must be able to demonstrate a healthy relationship with food.
- Flexibility and sensitivity to the client needs.
