Free Substance Use Disorder-Eating Disorder CEU Event

Please join us Wednesday, September 17 for a complimentary seminar to discuss the treatment of Substance Use Disorder and Eating Disorders.

Event Overview:

This continuing educational program will educate attendees about eating disorders, treatment approaches, and complications that occur when an individual struggles with eating disorders co-occurring with substance use disorders.

The seminar will:

  • Summarize and discuss the signs and criteria for diagnosing individuals with eating disorders.
  • Discuss approaches for treating eating disorders and substance use disorder.
  • Discuss the co-occurring nature of eating disorders and substance use disorder.

About the Presenters:

Cindy Solberg, M.A., L.P.C., L.A.D.C.

Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor at The Emily Program

Cindy works with clients who struggle with both eating disorders and chemical dependency. She provides assessments, group therapy, and awareness of cross addiction to clients and staff. Cindy enjoys being able to provide services for people who struggle with dual disorder of CD and ED. Cindy received her Master’s in Addiction Studies from Hazelden Graduate School and herBachelor’s of Science in Social Work from Metropolitan State University.

Jessica Welch, M.S., R.D., L.D.

Registered Dietitian at The Emily Program

Jessica works with clients in individual counseling and as lead RD for the dual diagnosis and DBT skills based intensive outpatient programs. She has been with The Emily Program since December 2013 and has 6 previous years of experience in the fields of eating disorders and chemical dependency. Jessica enjoys working with clients to build a more positive and healthy relationship with food, weight, and body image while on the journey towards eating disorder recovery. She holds a Master’s degree inNutrition Education from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science Chicago, IL and a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from College of St. Catherine, St Paul.
