Developing Adolescent Services
Renovations have begun at The Emily Program’s newest location. The Emily Program bought the 18,000 sq. ft. Toogood building in 2010, it will become the adolescent residential services facility. The facility will include living quarters with five bedrooms, group counseling and exam rooms, and staff offices. The project is expected to be completed in July 2011.
This facility will provide residential and outpatient services for teens who struggle with eating disorders as well as providing support and resources for their families. "The need for adolescent eating disorders treatment is growing, and this new space gives us a healing environment for the individualized treatment The Emily Program emphasizes,” said Lindsay Brown, TEP’s Director of Business development.
The Emily Program is also working to develop our adolescent programs to further incorporate families into individual’s treatment plans. We recently had a focus group composed of adolescents and families who have sought out treatment in the past, in order to get a better understanding of their view of the treatment process.
