“Ask Emily” with Dr. Jillian Lampert

By Jillian Lampert, PhD, MPH, RD, LD, FAED, Senior Director at The Emily Program

As a licensed registered dietitian and eating disorders practitioner, I often find myself in conversations around food. It’s a topic that everyone has questions, comments, and opinions about – after all, food is a necessity to live and included in so many parts of our lives.

The moment someone learns where I work and what I do the questions start flying. It’s so fun to help people work through some of their concerns, frustrations, and just help them lead whole, healthy lives. Through a new video segment we’re calling “Ask Emily”, I’m hoping to help answer questions that have been asked of me in the past, or that we receive often at The Emily Program. If you have a question of your own, please send it to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

In our first segment I talk about kids and healthy eating.

As children grow up their palate evolves and grows with them. Sometimes their desire to eat sugary or salty foods can drive parents crazy. As a parent of young girls, this is something I’ve dealt with at my house too. However, it doesn’t have to be an “if this, then that” battle with your kids. Check out this “Ask Emily” video for some helpful tips to find some balance at meals again.

I hope you find these videos helpful. And again, please feel free to submit your questions to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
