Cook (part-time), Anna Westin House
Location: Anna Westin House
Reports to: Lead Cook
Schedule: Monday 3:00pm – 7:00pm; 10:00 am – 6:30pm every weekend; and every other Thursday 1:00pm – 7:00pm. Flexibility in working these shifts preferred.
Compensation: $12- $14/hour
Position Summary:
Under supervision, maintain operational kitchen by assisting others in cooking meals for 60 plus clients and guests.
Duties include:
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
- Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
- Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared.
- Mix ingredients such as pancakes waffles, and baked goods.
- Prepare dough following recipe.
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, and/or griddles.
- Cook and package batches of food, such as hamburgers and fried chicken, which are prepared to order or kept warm until served or transported.
- Cook the exact number of items ordered, working on several different orders simultaneously
- Cook in batches for 20 or more
- Pre-cook items for later use
- Prepare specialty meals such as gluten free, lactose free, and vegetarian
- Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
- Serve orders to clients, staff and/or guests
- Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in culinary arts preferred
- Must have baking experience; cooking experience in catering or banquet preferred
